Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle has been named a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® by the Joint Commission, one of 1,043 hospitals in the United States earning the 2014 Top Performer distinction.
The Joint Commission, the organization which accredits hospitals, recognized the hospitals for exemplary performance in using evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for certain conditions. The recognition is based on accountability measure data reported to The Joint Commission during the previous calendar year. This year’s program results are based on data that were reported for 2014. Forty-two hospitals in Mississippi submitted data, and only 10 received the Top Performer distinction.
Baptist Golden Triangle was recognized for top performance in six areas: heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, stroke and immunization. This is the fourth year that Baptist Golden Triangle has been recognized as a Top Performer. The hospital was recognized in 2012, 2013 and 2014 for its performance on accountability measure data for four areas: heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care. The stroke and immunization accountability measures were added in 2014. Of the 1,043 Top Performer hospitals recognized this year, only 221 have achieved the distinction for the past four consecutive years, including Baptist Golden Triangle.
