The University of Tennessee Health Science Center Division of Surgical Oncology will host a half-day symposium on colorectal cancer Saturday, September 17, from 7:30 am to 1:15 pm at the Hamilton Eye Institute, 930 Madison Avenue.
National and regional experts will discuss the latest updates in the multidisciplinary management of colorectal cancer. This year’s Distinguished Visitor professor is Dr. Martin R. Weiser from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

The symposium will focus on key clinical topics in the management of colorectal cancer such as chemotherapy for early stage colon cancer, surgical approaches to rectal cancer, and management of liver and peritoneal metastases. It will also feature updates on current clinical trials in colorectal cancer. The symposium will provide an opportunity for clinicians involved in the care of cancer patients to learn from and interact with leading national faculty in order to increase clinical knowledge, apply new data into practice, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
