Memphis Medical Society is pleased to offer an update to our physician wellness efforts. Thrive, the physician wellbeing program and hotline provided by Memphis Medical Foundation in partnership with Memphis Medical Society, has operated since 2020, exclusively via telehealth. I am excited to announce that we have added an in-person, local psychologist to our rolls to support our physician community.
Please welcome Christopher Ferrand. Chris comes highly recommended by his peers and physician colleagues. Chris received his Doctor of Psychology and Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from The School of Professional Psychology at Forest Institute in Springfield, Missouri. In September he joined Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare where he will be working with educators in Shelby County as a therapist and supervisor. Additionally, he operates a private psychology practice called Ferrand Psychological Services. Chris also currently serves as President of Memphis Area Psychological Association and Vice President of Tennessee Psychological Association. He is available at select times through office or telehealth appointments.
Accessing our Thrive hotline is simple and confidential. Simply text 901.286.3110 and wait for confirmation and next steps. You can be connected with Chris or our other psychologist, Tamela Sadler, who also receives high marks from those who see her. You can also access the hotline via online form on the homepage of our website.
Some other friendly reminders about our program:
- Access to the hotline is open to all practicing physicians and resident/fellow physicians who practice in Shelby County.
- Membership in Memphis Medical Society is NOT required to access the hotline. We would still love nonmembers to join.
- A physician's first six appointments are completely funded by Memphis Medical Foundation. If you would like to support appointments for your colleagues, you can make a gift to Thrive here.
- This program is not affiliated with any other wellness, treatment, or punitive program.
- Our program is designed to serve as a bridge between self-care and more intensive therapy options.
Be on the lookout for more wellness content before year’s end.
