Kurt Tauer, MD, Chief of Staff at West Cancer Center will be honored at the American Cancer Society’s  annual Imagine Ball August 26 at the FedEx Event Center at Shelby Farms Park. 

Each year during the Imagine Ball, the Society recognizes the work, service and commitment of a special member of the American Cancer Society family.

“Doctor Tauer has dedicated the last 30 years to treating patients in the Mid-South with both compassionate care and the most innovative therapies available,” said Rola Obaji, Event Chair for the Imagine Ball. “He fights cancer on the front lines, right alongside his patients – every step of the way.”

 Tauer serves as a Medical Oncologist at West Cancer Center, an Associate Professor for the Department of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) and a board member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). At West Cancer Center, Dr. Tauer leads the Community Outreach initiatives, which provide a cohesive and comprehensive approach to eliminating barriers to care.
