Adrian Newson, DHA, FACHE, has joined Regional One Health as Associate Vice President of Oncology. Newson will lead academic oncology services at Regional One Health, including the system’s medical and surgical oncology practices.  He is an accomplished health care leader with over 20 years of experience leading radiology teams, radiation oncology programs, ambulatory services and cancer center/oncology service lines at multiple Tennessee and Alabama hospitals.

Newson began his career in Memphis as a radiation therapist and grew his career adding additional responsibilities with each position. Most recently, he served as Director of Oncology at DCH Health System in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. While at DCH, Newson led the oncology operations through a time of growth and operational improvement. Prior to that, he was the Administrative Director of Ambulatory Services at Metro Nashville General Hospital.

Newson earned a Doctorate of Healthcare Administration from Virginia University Lynchburg in 2021 and a Master of Science from the University of Memphis in 2001. In addition, he has served as a clinical instructor for radiology and radiation therapy and has served as an accreditation site visitor for the Joint Review Committee on Education Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
